Application & Device Control at a glance

Application allowlisting closes the door to unknown code

Application control lets only approved software run. Application allowlisting stops ransomware, unapproved tools and scripts from executing, a core zero trust endpoint control recommended by the CIS Controls. We implement it with Windows Defender Application Control, Symantec Endpoint Security, Kaspersky and Trend Micro, starting in audit mode to avoid business disruption.

USB device control and data theft prevention

USB device control decides which removable media can connect, read-only or blocked, per user or group. Combined with logging and DLP, it is one of the simplest forms of data theft prevention for organisations handling customer or patient records.

FAQ

Application & Device Control - frequently asked questions

What is application control?

Application control is an endpoint security control that allows only approved applications to run and blocks everything else, preventing malware, ransomware and unauthorised tools from executing.

Will application allowlisting break users' software?

Not if deployed correctly. SecureBeans runs application control in audit mode first, builds rules from real usage, then enforces gradually, starting with servers and high-risk users.

Can I block USB drives but allow company-issued ones?

Yes. USB device control can allow specific device IDs or encrypted company drives, make others read-only, or block removable media entirely, with exceptions logged.
