The company’s products were used by millions of individuals and businesses worldwide.
In 2019, Symantec was acquired by Broadcom Inc. The acquisition combined two of the largest cybersecurity companies in the world, and created a new leader in the industry. Broadcom subsequently sold Symantec’s consumer business, which included the Norton and LifeLock brands, to Gen Digital Inc. in 2021.
